- The legal side of affiliate marketing. I’m not a lawyer and there is no possible way to cover all of the ins and outs of your legal responsibility as an affiliate for the companies you choose to work with.

However, I will share some 'best practices' and link to as many helpful resources as possible. Most of it is pretty straight forward stuff, so don’t let it scare you!



A FEW THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND:



# 1: Affiliate marketing is just one piece of a much larger puzzle: the online business puzzle.


As such, this topic tends to intertwine with many other aspects of blogging and general online business.

Even though the focus of this course is on making money through affiliate marketing, we will be touching on many other aspects of blogging.

It’s all connected, and it’s all going to make a lot more sense as you work through this course.


# 2: Making money from your blog takes time and strategic effort.


You are probably not going to be rolling in the dough on the day you complete this course, so I don’t want you to expect that.

I’m a firm believer in being realistic and transparent about this business.

And realistically, it will take a little time and work to start making steady money from your affiliate marketing efforts.

I’m going to give you my best tips, tools, and strategies… but the real results come from your action.


# 3: Many of my recommendations are directly related to self-hosted Wordpress .org, and I highly recommend using this option for your own blog.


As you grow your blogging business, you will find that having your own self-hosted Wordpress .org website is the best option.

It is the most versatile, most customizable, and it's the only way to actually own your website. This is the only option that I can recommend to my students.

I run my own website on self-hosted Wordpress.org, and most of my tutorials and recommendations are directly related to this platform (because it is the industry standard).

If you are NOT self-hosted on Wordpress .org, making the switch sooner than later is a good idea. The cost is just a few bucks a month and most hosting companies will take care of your blog transfer for FREE.


Here is a step-by-step guide for getting set up.


If you can't afford to go self-hosted at this time, that's okay. But please be prepared for the fact that some of the training in this course will be more beneficial for you when you have your own self-hosted website.


MOST IMPORTANTLY:



Don’t give up on yourself, no matter what.


I know some of this blogging stuff can be overwhelming and frustrating. And I know that most bloggers give up before they ever start making GOOD money from their blogs.

But that is just because they don’t have the right tools, or the perseverance and GRIT that you and I have.

You absolutely CAN do this.
